The European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
Founded in 1991 in order to unite European perfusionists in their desire for equality of standards in both training and professional status. For this purpose, a democratic Organization with representatives from the perfusion societies of all European countries which, at that time were members of the European Community (EC) or the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) was initiated.
Supporting organizations of the European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion include the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), the European Society for Cardiovascular Surgery (ESCS) and the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Anaesthesiologists and Intensive Care (EACTAIC).

EuroELSO is working on the NextGen Mentorship Program and is currently collecting applications to become a mentor or a mentee within this program.
The goal of the program is to help students, trainees, and early-career professionals meet with experienced mentors across the global ECLS community. After careful evaluation of the applications, mentorship pairs will be matched according to their professional backgrounds, interests, and career aspirations. Together, mentors and mentees will develop an individualized professional development plan, with goals that may include clinical or technical expertise, research, education, innovation, leadership, and career development.
The program is open to all disciplines and EuroELSO would like to spread the word within the perfusion community. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, click on the link below or scan the QR code.
After many months of hard work, the time has finally come: the "EBCP/EACTS/EACTAIC expert consensus paper on basic qualifications and competencies for clinical perfusionists" is available after being accepted by the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.
This consensus statement was signed by the three organisations mentioned above, making it a widely supported document that will serve to further advance our wonderful profession of clinical perfusionist.
It was again a successful collaboration between the three associations involved and EBCP would like to express its gratitude to all those involved.
We would also like to expressly recommend using this valuable document to support your national processes relating to the recognition of the clinical perfusionist profession.
