The European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
Founded in 1991 in order to unite European perfusionists in their desire for equality of standards in both training and professional status. For this purpose, a democratic Organization with representatives from the perfusion societies of all European countries which, at that time were members of the European Community (EC) or the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) was initiated.
Supporting organizations of the European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion include the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), the European Society for Cardiovascular Surgery (ESCS) and the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Anaesthesiologists and Intensive Care (EACTAIC).

Help Support International Research on Burnout Among Perfusionists
An anonymous international survey has been launched to better understand burnout among perfusionists. This research aims to assess burnout levels within the profession and identify factors that may be associated with them.
The questionnaire takes only a few minutes to complete. It is available in multiple languages and participation is fully anonymous.
By taking part, you will help create valuable insight into workload, wellbeing, and the challenges faced by perfusionists in their daily practice.

After many months of hard work, the time has finally come: the "EBCP/EACTS/EACTAIC expert consensus paper on basic qualifications and competencies for clinical perfusionists" is available after being accepted by the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.
This consensus statement was signed by the three organisations mentioned above, making it a widely supported document that will serve to further advance our wonderful profession of clinical perfusionist.
It was again a successful collaboration between the three associations involved and EBCP would like to express its gratitude to all those involved.
We would also like to expressly recommend using this valuable document to support your national processes relating to the recognition of the clinical perfusionist profession.
